Danny Andreas is the founder and CEO of iZiViD. He built the first version of it for himself, in 2015, because nothing existed that let him share his own photographs, video and lessons with a daughter who lives a thousand miles away.

How iZiViD started

In 2015 there was no product that would put a father’s own material on his child’s screen during a call. So he assembled one: Skype for the call, and Open Broadcasting Software to stream photographs, home video and lessons into it. What he could suddenly do was specific rather than general: teach maths, astronomy and geography, and teach his daughter Dutch, from another country.

That setup is the idea iZiViD is built on, and it is the reason the product prepares the call in advance rather than handing you a catalogue to browse while your child waits. It came from using it, not from a strategy document.

Writing and research

Danny is the author of The Ultimate Long-Distance Dads Guide, published in 2025, about building and keeping a relationship with a child you do not live with, whether after a separation, across a border, or because of work.

He also created DistanceDads.com, which publishes practical advice for fathers parenting at a distance. He started it because the material he needed was written for mothers, and very little of it was written for fathers.

What he does at iZiViD now

Danny leads iZiViD as founder and CEO, and sets the product direction: what belongs in a call between a father and his child, and what does not. Eric Gipon joined as co-founder and CTO in 2025 and leads development.
